- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 15 September 2005Cool book. Of all the great stuff in it, the chapter by Brian Millar is really amazing.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 30 August 2012It's not so much about breaking into the industry, it's more about breaking into one side of it. It is a bit irrelevant if you want to gain a management position or be a strategic planner, but if you want to be in the creative department, have a read. It has generally good advice but it is not the best ad book for students/beginners in the field.

5.0 out of 5 stars really nice book for beginners
Learn from the Art Director how a newbie can enter the world of advertising, definitely not easy but this book answers some questions that obviously bother everyone wanting to enter the world of advertising. I found these questions are never answered in colleges but could definitely come out the minds of people who have already broke in. This is not a typical book on advertising but definitely shows you what lies inside. I recommend this to all those who wants to know what gets people excited about advertising and juniors who want to get into the field and have no idea, what they should do. Those who want to learn advertising..a word of caution that it is not the book to learn advertising

5.0 out of 5 stars Great book.
Should be required reading for anyone looking to get into/already in the Advertising industry. Lots of answers that don't usually get asked are in this book.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not as expected - but may be fine for some people
Let me preface this by saying I didn't finish reading the book. Let me follow that by saying the reason that I didn't finish reading it was because 1/3 the way through it, I felt it wasn't as useful as I had hoped. The topics were as expected, but the format in which it answered/explored topics was not. It was like reading emails. That's the only way to describe it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Pick Me Review
I recently finished reading Pick Me and really learned a lot from it. I am currently attending a school to build my portfolio in copywriting and felt that reading this book was like attending a whole new school, learning things that I would not have learned in my current school. I highly recommend this book to those trying to break into the industry. Although I'm not there yet, I feel like I'm that much closer after reading this book.
